Rainwater Harvesting Rebates

Looking for a simple and sustainable way to conserve water and help drought conditions. The water authority offers a rain barrel/cistern rebate.

The rebate amount is determined by the total water storage capacity of all rain barrels and cisterns installed, rather than the number of units purchased. For example, installing one 50‑gallon barrel and one 200‑gallon barrel provides a combined capacity of 250 gallons, qualifying for a $50 rebate.

All rain barrels must have a minimum capacity of 50 gallons to be eligible.

  • $25.00 for 50-149 gallons
  • $50.00 for 150-299 gallons
  • $75.00 for 300-499 gallons
  • $125.00 for 1000-1499 gallons
  • $150.00 for 1500 gallons and over

Rebate requirements:

  • Applicants must be a Water Authority customer
  • Itemized receipt to include a zero balance (PAID IN FULL) invoice
  • Application must be submitted within 90 days of purchase
  • Rain barrel/Cistern must be designed for the intended purpose of rain capture
  • Must have account number

Rebate credits will be issued to the service installation address within 1-2 billing cycles or up to 90 days. Customers are eligible for a rebate credit per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30)
