Sewage overflows resulting from obstructed sewer pipes cause millions of dollars in property damage every year.
You can do your part to avoid backups by using the sewer system as it was intended. Never use it to dispose of rags and other garbage. Especially important: Don’t put FOG (fats, oils and grease) down the drain. Remember to Cool It, Can It, Chuck It: Let the grease COOL, put it in an old coffee CAN, and CHUCK IT in the trash.
If you’re experiencing a sewer backup, report it immediately to our Emergency Dispatch Office at 842-WATR (9287).
