The State of New Mexico Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is now allowing renters to apply directly to the Water Authority for assistance in paying water and wastewater bills. If you qualify, the assistance can be applied to unpaid, current, past due, and future water and wastewater bills. A link to the application form is provided below.

To be eligible for ERAP assistance, you MUST:

Be a tenant renting a residential dwelling from a landlord.
Be experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Have household income that falls under the COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program Income Limit.
(Bernalillo County limits range from $38,750 – $73,000 for 1 to 8 persons per household.)

Information needed to complete application form:

• Water account number and current past due amount or current balance.
• NM Driver’s license or ID card number.
• Social Security or Tax ID number.
• Household income and number of persons in the household
