The 2012Water Follies Show: Just Like Magic, Only Better
This year's puppet show is a magic show that shows students the ways plants and animals use water. The Conservation Critters are back with On-Track Jack (the jack rabbit), Mr Toadly (the spadefoot toad), and Rattlin (the packrat). Students will learn about plants' roots, stems, and leaves, and about their own bones, muscles, brains, and lungs. They also learn that nature is amazing, in fact, it is "just like magic, only better." Our free puppet shows are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for grades K - 2 classrooms, October 2012 through May 2013. The show is about 45 minutes long (shorter for Kinders) and works best for groups of 40 to 80 students. We also hand out free coloring books that teach kids all about desert plants and how to save water outdoors.
Here is what principal Steven Tognoni, Principal at East San Jose Elementary School, had to say after watching the show:
"I truly enjoyed the show on water conservation. The TPR (Total Physical Response) model that you used was something that I feel works great with children . . . I would highly recommend the program to any school in APS."
