Want to learn more about saving water?
Although we will soon be tapping a new source of water through the San Juan-Chama Drinking Water Project, conservation remains the most critical component of our long-term water supply strategy. If the Drinking Water Project is to work over the long term, and if our underground aquifer is to be preserved as a backup source for times of drought, we must continue to reduce our water usage. The Water Authority provides a number of services to our customers to help them conserve water, including water audits and a generous rebate program. The effort is paying off, with more than 100 billion gallons – about three years’ worth of water – saved since 1994. |
