A number of companies and have received Gold Awards from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority for being in 100 percent compliance with their permit requirements for both reporting and quality of sewer discharge in 2011.  And Kirtland Air Force Base received an Award of Excellence at the January Water Authority board meeting for going “above and beyond” their Wastewater Discharge Permit regulatory requirements, authority spokesman David Morris said.

The authority also presented Silver Awards to 13 companies for achieving 100 percent reporting compliance and greater than 90 percent compliance discharge in 2011.

Gold and Silver Award winners must have a pretreatment system or exceptional pollution prevention and source reductions, he said.
