Participate in the X2 Double Rebate Program and earn double the normal xeriscape rebate when xerisaping your landscape and be eligible to win our Xeriscape contest.

X2 Double Rebate and Contest Eligibility Rules:

1. You are eligible for double xeriscape rebates if:
   • a. You meet all eligibility requirements of the Water Authority’s standard xeriscape rebate program.    Visit www.abcwua.org or call 768-3655 for more details, and
   • b. You are a commercial, multi-family, industrial or institutional customer of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, and
   • c. You are xeriscaping STEEP SLOPES (6:1 or greater) and/or SMALL AREAS (less than 10 feet in any dimension).  A minimum of 500 sq. ft. must be converted to xeriscape.
2. “Double rebates” means you receive water bill credits of $1.50 per sq. foot of qualifying landscape.  All landscapes must be  inspected and approved by the Water Utility Authority prior to conversion.
3. By participating in the double rebate program above you are automatically eligible to enter the xeriscape contest.  Just let the xeriscape inspector know that you’d like your conversion to be entered into the contest.
4. Xeriscapes will be judged on design and water-saving potential.
5. Contest winners will receive $12,000 in water bill credits for the GRAND PRIZE, an $8,000 credit for 2nd Place and $5,000 for 3rd Place.  Water bill credits will be applied to monthly bills from the Water Authority after award winners are announced until the amount of the credit has been exhausted.

Entries will be accepted and double rebate water bill credits apply for landscapes converted between March 1, 2011  through October 31, 2011.
