Will the roach-control treatment applied by the Water Authority completely get rid of roaches?
Roaches will never completely be eliminated from the system, however with treatment the population can be reduced to numbers that are manageable. Only sewer manholes closest to the address will be sprayed. No other areas will be sprayed, i.e., yards, water meter boxes.

How do I prevent a sewer back up?
- Deposit cooking grease and rags in the trash.
- Obtain a permit for all sewer-line repairs or excavation. Use only a licensed contractor or plumber to make repairs.
- Don’t plant trees near sewer lines.
- Know where your home’s sewer cleanouts are located.
- Any homeowner who has a basement or plumbing located below the elevation of the next upstream manhole of the public sewer system should protect their home from sewage back flow by installing an approved backwater valve.

How does the Water Authority figure out how much to charge me for sewer service?
Your sewer bill is based on your Winter Water Average (WWA). The Winter Water Average is water usage from December, through March, the lowest documented water usage period for customers. The Winter Water Average is divided by four, and 95% of the WWA is multiplied by the current water rate.

Why is December through March the lowest documented water usage for customers?
These months are used because typically people are watering very little, and do not use their swamp coolers. Each year customers WWA are updated to reflect their water usage.
